Osun State To Host The 2013 Oodua World Children’s Day
The Chairman of the Oodua World Children Day, Oguntola Toogun has revealed plans to stage the 2013 edition of the Oodua World Children’s Day in Osun state.
Mr. Toogun while briefing journalists about the event disclosed that about 2,700 students from ten Yoruba speaking states are to converge in the state of Osun to celebrate this year’s World Children Day.
Mr Toogun said the event is geared towards securing the future of the children through a well packaged, all inclusive celebration.
He stressed that the state Governor; Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, is determined to make children secure a sense of direction, discover themselves and their talents so they can function with poise and courage when they grow up.
The secretary of the Calisthenics committee, Adebayo Ojo said that aside the unity and cooperation the event is expected to foster, it would further enhance regional integration for sustenance of the Yoruba race.
The event will have about 2,700 students from across the state of Osun participating in the calisthenics display and will play host to other guests from within the country and outside.
The event will also host governors, lawmakers, traditional rulers, artisans, entrepreneurs, students from the six southwest states including Delta, Kwara, Edo and Kogi states as well as all Yoruba descendants.
