5th Grader Brought Marijuana to School to Prevent Dad from Smoking It

A fifth-grade students at Driver Elementary School in Suffolk, Va., could be expelled for bringing his father’s marijuana to class.

A Virginia fifth-grader who brought marijuana to school claims he had good intentions: He wanted to stop his dad from smoking it.
But the zero-tolerance drug policy at Driver Elementary School in Suffolk means the child now faces an expulsion hearing within 10 days.
Cops were called to the school Friday when the student admitted to a teacher that he had confiscated the pot from his father’s truck, city spokeswoman Diana Klink told The Virginian-Pilot.
The student’s mother was called in, and he reportedly told the officer that he wanted his dad to stop using marijuana.
